Obedience — Last week, we saw God move in a mighty way
at Hope Community. We saw God show up and stir people’s
hearts as we were challenged to say yes to God, even if we
don’t know what we are saying yes to, or even if we do not
know all the details. I have found in my life, that many
times God just wants us to say yes to what he is calling us
to, thereby putting all our faith and trust in him to provide.
In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus says that the greatest commandment
is, “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the
first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” For our yes to mean anything,
we first have to love others like Jesus loves them. We
must serve those around us who are less fortunate, and we
must do it joyfully as we are doing it for God’s glory alone.
If we cannot love, we are not living in obedience to God.
Have you said yes to God, no matter what that might
mean? If not, I encourage you to say yes and let him lead
you where he may. It may not always be easy, or convenient,
and it might even take us outside our comfort zones,
but I can assure you that there is nowhere better to be!

Blessings,
Todd
